With U.K hit tv show the It Crowd into its fourth season is not to be missed as a better alternative to the Office. Much like The Office it has also been remade (badly) by Americans! But, not to worry I think it never caught on so no suffering there.
The show revolves around Moss, Roy and Jen (their Relationship Manager) as they work in the bowels of the building in the IT department. The laughs can be very dry, dark but always with a very healthy ‘tongue in cheek’ attitude.
The best thing about the show, like many I review here, is that they have something ‘different’ and aren’t the usual American style sitcoms that aren’t really funny. The show is simple (think Black Books and MIghty Boosh) in its settings and amount of characters and this works well.
You get quite close to the almost loveable characters as they try living as outcast computer geeks. It is good to have their manager Jen, who knows nothing about computers, on the show as it really ads to the comedy.
The IT Crowd is a simple comedy formula that just works. A never dusty rating as it should always be off your shelf and next to your DVD player!
