With the Hangover 2 well and truly released and not as good as the first I thought it would be a good time to look back at the original. This was a classic bucks party, guys wild night out type of situational comedy that may not be intelligent but it was funny.
Combine the laughs with some pretty solid performances on the part of a few cameos (like Mike Tyson) as well as that little Asian guy from “Community”, you know, the one they locked in the trunk , and you have a fantastic movie. While this original is certainly better then the second movie both perform well for the same reason – they make you laugh when you shouldn’t.
Too many movies these days take themselves too seriously and this is where The Hangover blows all over the other’s faces. The movie takes you on a mystery ride as the “Wolf Pack” try and uncover where the man whose bucks night it is has gotten to! As I said, nothing too original, but a great deal of good laughs for bad reasons!
Rating: Slightly Dusty on the Shelf, Won’t watch it too often but will take it out sometimes for a bit of a chuckle!
