Apple Marketing Now Targeting Vain People

It seems that only the cool kids own Apple products.

As you look around the shopping centres, work and other public places there is a common thread among Apple users: fashion. It isn’t because these electronic toys are better than any alternatives, but rather, that they are ‘exclusive’.

The Fake Beatniks

Everywhere you look you will see disheveled looking people that for some reason own high end electronics. Usually, they are the kids of rich parents who now find it fashionable to be ‘hipsters’ or what used to be called beatniks.

Little do they realise that hippies and others dressed the way they did for a reason: sometimes philosophical but usually because they didn’t have any money. This is why the Apple media campaigns so distinctly target vain idiots that see themselves as the pretty people on the ads.

Electronics do not make you cool…

Sadly, all advertising wants people to believe that buying a certain product will improve their life somehow. Be it clothes, computers, food or even education, marketing is about convincing people that a lie is true.

So before you go out and buy an Apple product stop and think about why you are really buying it. Find it functional? Then fine, that’s a good reason. But if you are merely buying it to impress your friends then you are a very shallow person indeed (and then perhaps you are a perfect Apple user).
